Project Description

The existing Vejle Library is being transformed into a new cultural hub combining library, music and cultural facilities. The project includes a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing building and the addition of two smaller extensions, creating a flexible and inclusive cultural center. The transformation is guided by strong sustainability and circularity ambitions.

Our Input
Søren Jensen acted as engineering consultant, responsible for engineering design, project and design management, and coordination of all engineering disciplines throughout all project phases. The role also included sustainability management and ensuring integrated technical solutions across the project.

Key Features
Extensive reuse of the existing structure to reduce CO₂ impact, combined with new biogenic and recycled materials. New facades in reused aluminum and wood support circular design principles. A flexible multi-purpose hall and strong indoor–outdoor connections are central architectural and functional elements.
