Project Description

The Church of the Apostles Philip and Jacob in Vilnius is a historic monastic complex. Modern educational buildings were added to the site of the old hospital next to the complex, with modern architecture designed to blend seamlessly with the original structures. The new buildings are oriented towards the river and feature extensions that showcase the rich history of the complex.

 Our Input
MEPCO engineers played a crucial role in the MEP system design and building engineering systems for the project, with a focus on energy efficiency from the early stages of development. The team created a preliminary design for the energy concept before finalizing the MEP design, in line with MEPCO's standard practice.

Key Features
The main building will feature a conference centre, richly landscaped courtyard, and underground parking lot. Shops, restaurants, and cafes will be located on the first floors, and the surrounding streets will have a new bicycle path with plenty of greenery. The old hospital buildings are redesigned into educational buildings that will also have an amphitheatre hall with river views, auditoriums, and workspaces in the historical buildings, and a library in the courtyard building. The project promises to bring new life to the historic complex while preserving its heritage.
