Switch, Simon Corporate Headquarters, Barcelona

Project Description

JG Ingenieros provided the engineering design and site supervision services for the MEP installation works as part of the refurbishment of the new corporate headquarters of SIMON, the international electrical equipment brand, located in Barcelona’s 22@ innovation district. The project involved the complete refurbishment of Simon’s old factory in Poblenou district, transforming it into the company’s new global corporate headquarters. The building has a total floor area of 10,370 m² distributed across six floors.​

The building, named SWITCH, an obvious reference to the switch, a symbol closely linked to the company’s products, was designed with a strong commitment to environmental excellence.​

Key Features
It has achieved LEED Platinum certification, the highest international standard for sustainability and energy efficiency, as well as WELL Certification, which assesses more than one hundred parameters related to employee health and well-being. The building holds an Energy Performance Rating A, is equipped with 143 photovoltaic panels, and is connected to Districlima, the district heating and cooling network serving Barcelona’s 22@ district, ensuring highly efficient energy consumption.​
