Project description

The Roig Arena is a multipurpose venue, designed by the architecture studios HOK and ERRE. This building will fill a gap in the regional and national entertainment market, thus offering a new space for a wide range of events, consolidating itself as a benchmark in the cultural and sports offer. The venue has a capacity of up to 15,600 people in basketball mode and 20,000 in concert mode.

Key Features

The Roig Arena incorporates a series of passive strategies and technical solutions that respond to the Mediterranean climate. Large overhangs, shaded terraces and strategic orientation reduce the need for artificial air conditioning, while 1,742 photovoltaic panels installed on the roof generate renewable energy.

The water management system has also been carefully designed. At the base of the building is an underground tank to collect rainwater during heavy rains, complemented by green areas in the form of a basin that act as natural sinkholes.
