Project Description

One current plan is the implementation of the Flexible Office concept. As part of this plan, the buildings of the Province South-Holland in The Hague were renovated and refurbished. This was executed in several phases.

Our Input

The Province South-Holland has found a strategic partner for engineering consultancy for the next two years. In cooperation with Smits van Burgst, Stevens van Dijck has entered a framework agreement to support the Province with its real estate and housing portfolio. We will be strategic partner of the Province, helping it perform its role in directing and managing suppliers in the field of real estate and housing. This including construction management and consultancy regarding technical maintenance of buildings and their mechanical and electrical installations. Apart from consulting, we will also supervise the tendering and management of maintenance services.

Key Features

TIn the framework agreement, the combination Stevens van Dijck | Smits van Burgst has been evaluated on their perspective on strategic partnership and their perspective on quality assurance, the “Nieuwe Werken” (the flexible office concept), the Learning Organisation, construction management, corporate social responsibility, and expedience.

The framework agreement was signed on January 16th 2014 and has just been extended till 2024.

Complexity of the project

The whole complex of 5 buildings had to stay in business while a building was renovated. The focus was to keep the main infrastuctuur off the installations in operation.

Services

For the renovation of building A/B, D and the security room our scope was to make the new design, assist the client in the tender-phase. During the execution phase we provide assistance in supervision on the works and the hand over to the client.

The renovation of building C was a DBME-contract with a contractor. We wrote the scope of work for MEP, security end fire safety and during the execution phase reviewed the design of the contractor. Also during the commissioning phase we had a roll in monitoring and reviewing this process.
