Project description

Helvetia Insurance is remodelling its headquarters on St. Alban-Anlage in Basel according to designs by leading local architects Herzog & de Meuron. In addition to modern office space, meeting rooms for the public are also being created. The Campus will improve and enhance the connection between the medieval city centre and the outskirts.

Key Features

The focal point will be the construction of a new eleven-storey office building which, as a twin building, will complement the existing structure from the 1950s and thus at the same time anchor it more clearly in the cityscape. In addition, an auditorium will be created in an intermediate building that will both connect the two twin buildings and serve as the new, spacious main entrance to the campus site. The auditorium, an open-plan glass atrium with a striking roof, will be used to host both internal and external events.
