Europaplads (Europe Square)

DenmarkOffices and Workplace

Project description

The building at Europaplads 6-8, which is currently under construction, will be an 8-storey building which, as the first commercial building, has been registered with the voluntary sustainability class. In addition, the goal is for the building to be DGNB certified for GOLD.

The building is designed with a central covered atrium, three stabilizing stair cores and steps in the facade around the upper floors. The first to seventh floors are used as office floors, the ground floor as a communal canteen and business leases, as well as a basement with a parking rack system. The roof is furnished with accommodation as a roof terrace.

It is a precast concrete project based on a slab foundation supplemented with drilled piles under cores.

The HQ of Søren Jensen Consulting Engineering Company (SJ) will be tenants at the 3rd floor. The office will be furnished with as much recycling as possible, including everything from surfaces to installations. This is done in collaboration with Danica Ejendomme, who will become the new owners of the property when it is put into use.

The recycled materials come, among other things, from the office building Nauticon, which is part of Danica Ejendomme building portfolio. It is a so-called win win situation, where materials have their lifespan extended in SJ's new offices on Europaplads. Søren Jensen Consulting Engineering Company has Nauticon collaborated with Tscherning regarding dismantling, where SJ, among other things, prepared a material catalog based on screening and resource mapping, while Tscherning oversaw the delicate dismantling.
