Project Description
This project consists of 4 No. 2 MW COLO’s and associated electrical support rooms (Electrical Rooms, IDF Rooms, MV Rooms, etc).
Our Input
As part of the mechanical and electrical deliverables Ethos Engineering was commissioned to provide the design through BIM and Revit MEP was used for this project. The M&E services were developed to LOD 300 and transferred over to the main contractor to complete throughout the project. Ethos Engineering provided full MEP design services and Construction Administration support.
Key Features
The electrical support rooms are fully prefabricated pods that were manufactured off-site and positioned within the building to facilitate an accelerated construction programme.
The cooling is achieved by a highly efficient DX cooling system with an annualised PUE of 1.2 to meet stringent local authority requirements. The project also involves infrastructure extension and resilience, in relation to site MV supplies and connection to other telecoms infrastructure.
Worked closely with our Dutch First Q Partner – Smits van Burgst - to ensure local compliance, and offering a contact on the ground who was available to the client, while managing the entire design process from our Dublin Offices.
