Project Description
The Blue Gate Antwerp site is an initiative to develop a sustainable business park on the Schelde in Antwerp. The current BlueChem project is located in the southernmost zone of the site, and together with the adjacent BlueApp building, forms the gateway to the site.
BlueChem is an incubator building for sustainable chemistry. The incubator aims to facilitate start-ups, and offers a range of flexible lab and office spaces for companies on the site. Flexibility is therefore a crucial factor in the architectural and technical design.
Our Input
The building includes offices, laboratories, meeting rooms, technical areas, storage areas and areas for general management. There are plans to connect to Infrax's renewable heat network, as well as a PV installation on the roof to harness solar energy. In combination with a well thought-out architecture and a clever concept for the technical installations, the BlueChem building has been awarded the BEN-label.
