Hospital Sint-Maarten

Belgium Healthcare and Lifesciences

Project Description

The construction of the new Sint-Maarten Hospital, near the Mechelen ring road, started in 2013. Ingenium was charged with the design and monitoring of the implementation of all technical equipment in the hospital.

The hospital is part of the non-profit organisation Emmaüs. Over 5000 people work in more than 20 Emmaus health care centres. The technical concept of the Sint-Maarten hospital building, with roughly 750 beds, was based on a distinct vision towards durability and functionality.

Our Input

Ingenium was charged with the design and monitoring of the implementation of all technical equipment of the hospital. For concrete implementation of these decisions, a team of specialists was available for HVAC, electrical circuitry, high voltage, medical gasses, sanitary facilities, communication systems and energy. The medico-technical part of the hospital includes fourteen operating rooms, day treatment, intensive care with high-care boxes, outpatient treatment facilities, bunkers, medical imaging and an emergency ward.

Key Features

We used our expertise and know-how in the hospital sector to provide the client with intensive guidance. That way, optimum decisions regarding comfort, budget and desired functionality were made.
