The Tapiola town centre modernisation project, AINOA, aims to create an urban model for sustainable development. As part of the change, the total floor area of the properties will increase from 82,000 gross square metres to 242,000 gross square metres, presenting challenges in terms of the area’s energy efficiency.
Granlund is participating in the project by designing the HVAC, plumbing, building automation, electrical, lighting and fire extin-guishing systems for various sites, as well as consulting on energy efficiency and LEED certification.
Unique / Key Features
When it is complete, the centre will contain around three times as much floor area with approximately the same carbon footprint as the current centre.
