First Q has produced its first technical document, explaining how to define and create a smart building for investors and clients.
The document is the result of the work of one of First Q technical groups, the smart buildings group, and its intention is to give our clients a guideline on how to implement this strategy in new and existing buildings. The white paper has been compiled by Wim Boone (Ingenium, Belgian First Q member).
For First Q, a smart building is a building that creates a comfortable living and working environment which interacts with its users and its neighbourhood while minimizing its impact on the environment.
Creating a smart building involves many stakeholders and consists of a whole lot more than putting the right building technologies together. It has to be created as a self-learning building, making itself smarter and smarter during its lifecycle.
